All on 4

Dr. Stojanović also points out that the All-on-Four prosthetic system is unjustifiably favored in the West.

- It implies the placement of four implants that support the prosthesis attached to them, which is a long-term poor solution because it imposes the need for regular maintenance and cleaning in a dental clinic, where each visit should be paid extra. Such a system doesn’t meet the expectations of patients because, although the implants are embedded, they still get a mobile prosthesis, which doesn’t make them satisfied. In these cases, our patients are recommended 6 implants placement, which provides a fixed prosthesis, metalloceramic or zirconium ceramics, as a long-term solution, easy for hygiene maintenance and very comfortable. The All-on-four system is simpler to work with, brings good profit to a doctor, but doesn’t fully meet patients’ expectations. Only 10-15% of all patients who need implantation are suggested to do All-on-4. Unfortunately, the use of this type of prosthesis is much more common because it allows the doctor to earn more for less time.
